Wendy Kuperus’s Mum is a bit better but not out of the woods yet. Please remember her and others like Ngaire McCracken who are not well and needing our various supports, and thanks go to you if you have or will make the effort to pray or call.
Colin away: Colin and Anna Thomsen will be away for 6 Sundays on annual leave from February 5th. (We are attending our daughters wedding in Wellington and then after 10 days back in Auckland going to the US for three weeks). Phones and email messages will be cleared but there may be a few gaps here and there at Hillside. Gareth Wood starts on March 1st who will monitor some things and there will be others around, but this is to let you know that we are gone for a bit but coming back soon. Camp: Hillside has an option and paid a deposit for a camp at Campbell Park Christian Camp at Mangawhai Heads from May 4th to 6th. This was originally booked for the youth about a year ago but as this time is two weeks after Easter camp most don’t want another camp so soon after. All this to say if there is a Church group that would like to utilise the booking please contact Colin Thomsen and we will confirm the booking.

Books: Do you have a library book from Hillside? You do? And you have finished reading it? Yes….OK then well its time to bring it back. Don’t forget. Put it in your bag or car now for this Sunday.
Gareth and Cara Wood: Our last year Carey student starts March 1st here at Hillside for three days a week. Don’t be alarmed at not seeing them in the meantime as they are completing a summer placement in another Auckland Church until then. They are very excited to know they are coming to Hillside.
Auditorium Changes: These are not lost to us. The professional designers we have retained to process the first stages of looking at the best way to enhance the auditorium and building look and feel measured up the building this week.
Cap room closed: As Hillside process’s Cherry’s transition to her next chapter and we advertise for a new CAP manager for Hillside we are closing the room where given products are dispensed to CAP clients. So at this point we are no longer wanting to receiving furniture , clothing or bric a brac. Thanks to all who have contributed stuff over the last few years.

Hillside Community Church Notices for January 15th 2012
Sunday 10.00am: Bruce Patrick “Silence” on Sunday 15 January, and “Surrender” on Sunday 22 January. Aspects of the life of Jesus (with implications for our lifestyle) not often considered.
Sunday 6.00pm: No meeting
Beach Mission: Beach Mission was held in Whangamata from December 28th to January 2nd. About 43 people were there and though less formal activities took place this year the team had a very positive impact on the community. There was a real openness among many of the crowd and many people were prayed for and a good number accepted Jesus as saviour. I hope we will get some testimonial updates in the weeks to come.
