SPHNKS is a lot of fun. These very informal weekly gatherings of the Society for the Prevention of Hillsiders Not Knowing Stuff are to search out together what the Bible says about whatever anyone wants to know. Some of the really hard stuff – like where is God in disasters? Or capital punishment. Or how to understand the Old Testament, the existence of Israel, or the Book of Revelation. Or fun stuff like “Is Jesus really coming back? Really? When?”

We start at 5 p.m. on almost every Sunday afternoon in the Hillside library on the mezzanine floor and we’re supposed to finish at 6:15 but always have trouble finishing because Dorothy won’t stop telling funny stories.
