Beach Mission is an extraordinary event that Hillside coordinates and runs with other churches. For eight days and seven nights we head South to Whangamata to serve the local community over the New Year celebrations.

We run a cafe where a dedicated team make delicious coffee, tea and hot chocolate all for FREE! While the cafe is designed to serve the community by providing a safe place for any and all to relax, it also creates a great opportunity to talk to people about the gospel.

We also run Skate and Volleyball Competitions, a Kids Programme and perform Street Theatre. These are all great fun and all free! The events all have the same aim, to serve the community and plant seeds into peoples lives about the Good News!

Beach Mission is great because it encourages everyone to bring a witness for the gospel. Participants get trained to boldly share their testimonies, broadcast love and be an example of the good works that He has done in us. It is sometimes challenging, but anyone that has been can tell you that it is an amazing and memorable experience that many choose to repeat year after year.
