About Us

Whether you’re a regular at our services or just visiting, we warmly welcome you among us. We are a multi-generational, diverse group of followers of Jesus passionate about communicating His love and truth to a world pretty thin on the ground on hope.

We’re an easy-going group of people who love to express ourselves with passion through worship, prayer, teaching, service to the communities in which we live, work and study and are committed to building community among ourselves through transparent and genuine relationships.

Anyone is welcome to join us in our fellowship, where we embrace all the gifts and workings of the Holy Spirit amongst us.

Our address is 75 Felton Matthew Avenue, St Johns, Auckland, 1006, New Zealand.

About Us

We’re an eldership based church with a strong belief in the priesthood of all believers.
Our mission is to get you as excited as we are, about:

1. Jesus.
As the song says, “Oh happy day! When Jesus washed my sins away!” Not only is He the Messiah of Israel, He’s the lover of our souls; not only is He coming back soon (and that’s gospel!) but in the meantime He has gained us first-hand access to our heavenly Father, the Creator of everything there is. No works we do will ever be good enough – only He can wash away our sins.

2. The Kingdom.
When we prayed to Jesus, we entered the supernatural realm and the Holy Spirit came to take up residence inside us, to restore, lead and teach us. We started hearing things we had never heard before, doing things we couldn’t do before, even dreaming dreams of future events. His Kingdom’s come when His will is done, so He helps us do it.

3. The Scriptures.
As He has opened our minds to understand the Scriptures, even Leviticus has become exhilarating (though that took a while!). Now we know why Paul was so excited. He could endure the 39 lashes five times, three beatings with rods, being left for dead after a stoning, many imprisonments, endless slandering….We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God and contains all truth for life and living.

4. Worship.
We love to worship God “in spirit and in truth”, praying “with the spirit and with the mind also”, glorifying God in day to day life, and with good friends through great music. God looks for worshippers and so do we.

5. The Church.
It’s people and never a building. We must be faithful wherever we’re called to serve the saints but we won’t let denominationalism (the Bible calls that “party spirit”) divide us off from anyone who loves Him. We believe Jesus laid down His life for one church and so should we.

6. Our Enemies.
We’re learning how to love all our human opponents – “wisdom cries aloud in the streets” and we want to learn from anyone when they’re right. We also are learning how to fight all the spiritual forces of this present darkness, including our own old natures and Satan. Unlike Elvis, he is alive and well and living right here, but “greater is He that is in us” and if we stay humble, we’re going to inherit the earth. “It’s better to light a small candle than to curse the darkness”.

7. Works.
Well, there’s no shortage, is there. Some are still called “to leave their nets to become fishers of men” but everywhere is a fishing-hole. Before we were even born, God prepared good works for us to walk in so we need to help each other to find those and do them. What He hasn’t called any of us to is laziness – if we don’t work, we shouldn’t eat. “Take My yoke upon you and you will find rest for your souls”.

8. Individuality and Community.
As you may have gathered, we are pretty strong individuals with pretty strong convictions but we are absolutely committed to really loving our neighbours as ourselves. We believe it is only through loving, honest and deepening relationships with one another that we have any “reality checks” on our spirituality, to grow and learn who we are as individuals and what we should be doing.
