Every Sunday has three meetings:
The Morning Service – 10am
Praise, worship, teaching, great people and coffee! The meetings are family orientated as the ages range from new borns to the well-matured amongst us. This not only gives life to the meeting, but wisdom. Every few months we have a very special kind of meeting that we call a Cafe Service. These services have guests that are well-known in their profession, yummy food and A class coffee! Every Morning Service has a creche available and a kids programme (RayD8).
Our morning service is for all ages – we love to honour our elders, some of whom are in their 80’s and even 90’s, as well as to play with our kids. We have a great crèche for pre-schoolers and special programmes for primary age (RayD8) . We aim to finish by 11.30 and then catch up over coffee or tea (our espresso machine is on before and after the service, in case you missed breakfast).
You’ll hear updates on what’s happening, including testimonies of God working in our lives today, and practical Bible teaching. You are welcome to share or participate in everything we do.
Rotuman Service – 2pm
Every Sunday afternoon at 2pm – 4.30pm, we have a Rotuman service. This service is run by the people of Rotuma (which is a part of the Fijian Islands) and is held in their native tongue.
They are a group of 3 families that were a part of the Methodist churches, but have separated from it because of their concern with the liberal views that had been accepted there.
We are very privileged to have them with us, and am sure to meet them more personally throughout the years to come.
Evening Service – 6.00pm
The evening service is very popular with the youth of our church, but there are other age demographics that attend, and are very warmly received by the youth. Though the music is louder, and the meetings are very informal, we are sure that you will enjoy the service. We seek The Holy Spirit throughout the meeting. The microphone is generally always open, and more and more people are using that opportunity to contribute God-given visions, words, prophecies, and encouragement to the group.
We have some amazingly gifted teachers and exhorters amongst us and are always pretty hungry for Gods word each week. We also love having outside speakers come and minister to us.
So, come along any Sunday night at 6.00 pm.
Cafe Services
Every few months, Hillside hosts a Cafe Service. These services are a dynamic mix of faith, entertainment and challenge. We provide free and yummy food, tea and coffee. The guest could be a sportsman, a musician, an artist or a poet. Whatever they do, they captivate the audience with their art, and speak freely about God and the Good News. With the fun atmosphere the service has, it is a good excuse to invite friends or family who wouldn’t normally come into a church environment.
In the past we’ve had acts from big name musicians such as Dave Dobbyn, Steve Apirana, The Bob Dylan Tribute Band and more, as well as talks from rugby players, and rides in famous sports cars!
Feel free to come, and bring as many people as your car can hold!
